The soil for cacti is fertile and draining, ideal for fat and succulent plants that do not like water stagnation.
In fact, its composition allows it to temporarily retain large quantities of water to allow the plant to reserve but, at the same time, it must be particularly drained to avoid water stagnation which would lead to rotting of the roots and subsequently of the epigeal part.
The addition of 0-3 mm pumice sand also ensures optimal macroporosity.
Generally cacti need high temperatures even during the winter and grow well in full sun. If the outside temperature doesn't drop below 5-6 degrees they can be safely grown outside.
