OUTDOOR use
Drill the pot under the base with a screwdriver or drill to avoid water stagnation.
Place some expanded clay or other draining material at the bottom of the pot.
Insert a layer of non-woven fabric type material to ensure the passage of water but not solids.
Place a layer of soil and place the plant on top. Finally cover the plant with soil until the pot is full.

INDOOR use
Insert another vase containing the plant into the vase and use a suitable saucer at the base.
If you want to proceed without an additional vase, you can proceed as above by drilling the vase.
However, remember to use a saucer to avoid wetting the floor.

EXTRA tip
It is also possible to drill a hole in the side wall of the vase about 3/5 cm from the bottom in order to create a "fake saucer" inside.
Fill that space with expanded clay, then non-woven fabric and finally soil.
In this way, unless watered very abundantly, the excess water will remain inside the vase and will not come out and create problems.

Is the vase suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, the vase can be placed outdoors. If it is not drilled, it is necessary to drill the base with a screwdriver, a drill or a screwdriver to drain excess water in case of rain. Multiple small holes are preferable to a single very large hole.
Finally, insert a layer of expanded clay at the bottom of the pot to prevent the soil from coming out of the holes. We also recommend, for very tall vases, weighing down the bottom with pebbles or sand to avoid tipping.

Are any precautions necessary in internal environments?
We recommend using a layer of expanded clay on the bottom of the pot. This allows the excess water not to stagnate but retain the necessary humidity for the roots of the plant.

Is the vase built to withstand low and high temperatures?
Yes, the vase is able to resist all atmospheric agents, summer and winter. However, remember that, unlike pots, plants are not particularly resistant to frost.

Will the color stay the same over time?
Yes, the vases are resistant to UV rays and do not discolour.

Is the vase impact resistant?
The plastic used to make the vase is very resistant and, even if it falls from a small height, the vase is not damaged. Particularly sharp or pointed objects, however, can damage it.

How can I clean the vase?
A common non-abrasive degreaser is fine for cleaning any vase

What is the self watering set available in Lechuza products?
Lechuza pots are designed to ensure sustenance for the plant even when you are not at home or forget to water them.
First you need to wait for the roots of the plant to reach the container of the pot. This process usually takes 3 months, a period of time in which you will have to care for the plant in the traditional way.
After this period it is only necessary to fill the tank with water and the plant itself will absorb the quantity of water it needs. The only operation to be done will be to refill the tank when the indicator has reached the minimum level. The plant normally takes 2 to 12 weeks to consume all the water.
To keep your plants at their peak splendor we recommend periodically adding liquid fertilizer to the water supply.
